The Coppi winery is an ancient story, the story of an Apulian family devoted for decades to wine production on the hills of the Murgia dei Trulli. It all began back in 1882, the date of birth of the historic winery, by the hand of a pioneering winemaker from Turese. Since the end of the 1960s, the oenologist Antonio Coppi starts his professional collaboration in the cellar and in 1972, he takes over the ownership of the cellar, transforming it into the mission of his life: to restore dignity and luster to a wine production, that of Puglia, still little known. and in many ways mistreated, snubbed by the rest of the Italian wine mainstream.
Everything stems from the maniacal care of the production starting from the cultivation in the one hundred hectares of family vineyards, a heritage that has always been handed down together with the love for the viticultural techniques of Primitivo, Aleatico, Malvasia, Negroamaro and Falanghina.
Antonio Coppi’s passion and knowledge of wines is soon transmitted, in a very natural way, to his children, Lisia, Miriam and Doni.
Today it is possible to experience the thrill of touching the century-old history of the Coppi family and of winemaking in this land of the Primitivo, with a tour and tasting in the historic cellar on the outskirts of Turi, among stone cisterns, oak barrels, presses and events of wine tasting and show cooking, a precious treasure chest of tradition and modernity of wine in Puglia.
